Care For Your New Floor

Caring for your new floor is easy but there are a few things to consider to insure a long lasting life of it. You can walk on your floor and begin stocking the garage the following day of installation. Because epoxy and urethane floors take up to 7 days to fully cure and harden, you will want to keep your car off of it for 5 days in 80 degree weather and for 7 days in the colder months. However if you have an HP Spartacote floor, this is reduced to just a few hours in any weather.

All Trademark Garage Floors are resistant to most chemicals including gasoline and oil. Wipe up spills of paint and paint thinners right away as they may leave stains on the floor if left to dry. If you have a golf cart it is important to place a rubber or plastic mat under the cart when charging the batteries. Battery acid will discolor the floor if left too long.

Normal maintenance might include using a leaf blower or push broom. If you use water to clean the floor, a small amount of cleaner is OK. Be sure not to leave behind a residue that can become slippery when wet. The best idea would be to have a sponge type squeegee to remove water from the floor even if you have a skid-resistant additive.

Be careful not to drop or drag heavy or sharp objects on the floor. Our floors are so resistant to where the concrete below is actually softer than our floor and will give way to harsh treatment.

Last and most importantly, enjoy your new garage floor!
